Yes! I got Modern Warfare 2! First, let me tell you about how I ended up getting the Hardened edition, and a little bit about it.
I walked into the shopping center at about 5:30pm. I rushed straight to EB Games and put myself behind the relatively large lineup. After standing and walking slightly for about 10 minutes, I finally got to the front of the line. I handed the cashier my preorder receipt. Waiting for him to grab my copy, I looked around and a Hardened edition of the game caught my eye behind the glass shelve.
"Hey, do you have any of the Hardened edition copies that I can get instead?" I asked him.
He kindly said yes and gave it to me, explaining how many people had canceled their preorders. Therefore, I ended up with a sleek (sort of over expensive) copy of Modern Warfare 2. For those that don't know what the Hardened edition is, it's a collectors edition that includes an art book, a voucher to freely download Call of Duty Classic, and a metal case for the game with a nicer looking image.
Now, first experiences. I started up the game and it immediately asked me to download an update to play online. I skipped this part for now and headed straight into the campaign mode. This was really something. Just in the first few minutes, I got to shoot a lot of enemies, drive a snowmobile, and many other things! I don't want to ruin too much for those that haven't played yet, so I'm going to leave it at this and talk more about it tomorrow.
I wanted to talk about one more thing. Online. Probably one of the best parts of the game, online multiplayer is lag free madness. That's right, lag free. I usually experience much lag when playing other shooters online, or even Modern Warfare. MW2 took online to the next level. The easy to understand interface and the great maps provide an excellent online experience.
I haven't played too much, so I will talk about it more tomorrow.
